Afrimed Shipping collects only the contact and shipment information needed to quote, clear and move your cargo, and handles it in line with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

This Privacy Policy explains how Afrimed Shipping (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects personal information submitted through our website or provided in the course of a shipping instruction, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
2. Information we collect
- Contact details you provide: name, email, phone number
- Shipment details: commodity, route, container/cargo specifics, consignee information
- Correspondence you send us by email, WhatsApp or the contact form
- Documentation required for customs clearance (invoices, packing lists, permits)
3. How we use it
We use this information to prepare quotes, clear cargo through customs, arrange transport and warehousing, and communicate with you about your shipment. Shipment documentation is shared with SARS and relevant customs authorities as legally required, and with our shipping agent network where needed to move your cargo.
4. Sharing with third parties
We share information only where necessary to perform the service: with customs authorities (SARS), our international shipping agent network, transport subcontractors, and, where legally compelled, regulators or law enforcement. We do not sell personal information.
5. Retention
Shipment and customs-related records are retained for the periods required by South African customs and tax legislation. Contact-form enquiries that don’t proceed to an instruction are retained only as long as needed to respond to the enquiry.
6. Your rights under POPIA
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion, where we are not legally required to retain it
- Object to processing, where applicable
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa
